ALMOST FAMOUS: THE MUSICAL - TV Spot
ALMOST FAMOUS: THE MUSICAL | SPOTCO
I designed and animated this promo for the debut of the US stage adaptation of Almost Famous: The Musical based on the modern cult classic film. Heavily inspired by the keyart I was provided by the talented design team over at Spotco, I greatly expanded on the concept of a “contact sheet coming to life” and nostalgia of the era the narrative is based in over a desk sprawling with warm nostalgic memorabilia. This project was challenging, but ton of fun to work on, and moreover, blessed and praised by Cameron Crowe himself. I just KNEW “one day I’d be cool”!

ALTERNATIVE MUSIC
One of the biggest mandates from the producers was to stay away from the implication of narcotics use and the visual tropes of the 70s, but I created an iteration for the post-open show phase to test the waters just the same if only to determine it absolutely couldn’t work. While it didn’t get used, I was proud of creating it nonetheless! This concept while keeping in with the “living contact sheet” motif was greatly inspired by the titling design of 70s cinema and a reference to the character William Miller’s alleged glorious purple aura. Groovy!
